Oscar David Alvarez

Oscar Alvarez is a performance artist with a studio practice in sculpture and installation.  He's currently working with totemic hierarchies, clown rituals, metaphysical grids, sacred geometry, and abject embodiments of male psyches. Oscar is currently earning his MFA at USC Roski School of Fine Art, where he is now making a short movie about law enforcement and the private property they protect. He makes performance work on freeway overpasses, where he's currently forming new discourses on being vulnerable in LA. He's also diligently making hand drawn shirts with the logo for the band Tool. He hopes to have around 1,000 of these white shirts by October for his performance TOOL Shirt that's taking place at the Broad for the series En Cuatro Patas curated by Nao Bustamante & Xandra Ibarra.
