Gridded: A Performance by Oscar David Alvarez

If you bare your throat to the world, then the universe will take care of you. If you expose your heart to the city then the streets will embrace you. If you reveal the pain into the night, then the light will consume you. If you spill blood onto the cracks, then towers will be built on that soil.  A performance on vulnerability in the new urban landscape by Oscar David Alvarez for the 2018 Queer Biennale at Last Projects June 22nd.

Oscar will also have copies of his recent zine, Fucking Los Angeles. A collection of short stories of public sex in Los Angeles.

Queer Biennial Closing Night

Join the artists and curators of The Queer Biennial on the final night of its exhibition at NAVEL.

Schedule
8:00pm - Doors Open
9:00pm - Special Thank You from the Curators
9:15pm - Performance by M. Tennyson

M. Tennyson will premiere the entirety of his BOY UNTITLED EP for first time, exclusively at The Queer Biennial 2018 closing party.

"Boy Untitled" is an alternative-pop manifesto that follows the thematic journey of his upcoming book, "A Wanderer's Love Letter to the Universe," illustrated by Diego Eduardo. "Boy Untitled" is Tennyson’s physical embodiment of "Love Letter’s" protagonist, The Wanderer, who unexpectedly finds himself on a grand quest across the Universe. Featuring all-original music, poetry, movement and visuals, "Boy Untitled" invites the audience on a deeply personal journey of emotional evolution. The five songs of the EP correspond to that of the book, exploring themes of stagnation, recognition, action, victory and evolution.

Featuring choreography by Danny Dolan, "Boy Untitled" includes M. Tennyson’s most recent singles, EASY and SPARK, as well as, 3 songs that have yet to be released. Additional visuals by Walid Azami, Pietro Torrisi, Ryan Wehner and Emily Franz.

Babytalk: LA | A Pop-Up Store by Talk Hole

Babytalk: LA | A Pop-Up Store by Talk Hole

LA is the city of dreams. And Talk Hole’s dream… is to open a store. Because after all, what’s more LA than a retail-cum-performance space?

“Babytalk: LA” will expose/celebrate Talk Hole as the infantilized carpet-baggers we truly are, helping to shed light on the ever blurrier division between retail and art; brunch and lunch; Los Angeles and New York. Is working retail inherently queer? Can we ethically promote queerness through consumption? Can we afford to sell only one succulent a month? We leave these questions to the audience.

Talk Hole is Steven Phillips-Horst and Eric Schwartau

Cost: $10 (no one turned away for lack of funds)
Tickets can be reserved here

Schedule:
Doors open at 7:30 PM
Show starts at 8:00 PM
